Hawks Trade Klinkhammer to OTT for draft pick
Dec 02 2011 08:36 PM | JOVE23 in Transactions
Finally, the Blackhawks front office has made the long-awaited trade that will shock the team into becoming the powerhouse we know they ar...wait.
Today, the Chicago Blackhawks traded 25-year-old LW Rob Klinkhammer to the Ottawa Senators for a conditional seventh-round draft pick in 2013.
Klinkhammer broke in with the WHL's Lethbridge Hurricanes in 2003 and has played for the Seattle Thunderbirds, Portland Winter Hawks, Brandon Wheat Kings, Norfolk Admirals, Rockford IceHogs and the Chicago Blackhawks.
In 18 games this season with the AHL's Rockford IceHogs, the 6'3”, 209 pound Klinkhammer has netted two goals and four assists and has a minus four rating. In his junior and minor league career, he has recorded 113 goals, 144 assists and 433 penalty minutes with a plus four rating.
In one career NHL game, Klinkhammer has no points and a plus one rating.

....WHAT A MOVE!

That ought to shake up this team!
This is obviously the deal we've all been waiting for. Thank God we made room by sending Olesz down!
Aside from the fact that this trade will win us the cup, it sucks to see another ex-winterhawk leave the team--even a career AHL'er.
Good luck Colonel!
Good luck Colonel!
damn, i liked him.
Klink always seemed to have energy and courage on the ice. I wish him well.

I liked him too, although with all the talent in the organization he probably never would have gotten a shot here... but I think he could be a good 4th line player, possibly working his way up to the 3rd line for occasional stints. Never gonna happen here though, hope he gets his shot in Ottawa.
We couldn't get Turris?
NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wait... who? Hiyo!
Wait... who? Hiyo!
Hogan!!!
Dont think he will be much of a noticeable miss. Keep in mind that he and Steeger where close buddies.
It's apparently also a conditional pick. How many games he plays or something.
I don't think he really had much value to begin with, so I'm fine with the 7th round pick, if we got a conditional pick that's just a bonus.
I liked his name, but it's a hard one to live up to.
This is a classy move by the Blackhawks organization giving a player who might not have a shot at the big club here a chance at a fresh start somewhere else.
Silly move to me, but hey! Its Klinky bobblehead night in Rockford on the 17th!
So my Zhamnov bobblehead could be a rare collectible one day....
Great name, not enough talent. At least we got something for him
I think Klink is more than a 7th round pick.
I'm not sure how much more you guys expected the Hawks to get for him... 6th round pick? 5th round pick?
