Toews, Sharp Officially Activated off IR

* * * * *

Jonathan Toews and Patrick Sharp have officially been activated off Injured Reserve.

Toews missed one regular-season game against the Nashville Predators due to upper body injury as well as holding out of the NHL All-Star Game for precautionary reasons. The Blackhawks were 0-1-0 without Toews, losing to the Predators 3-1.

Sharp missed 8 games, suffering the injury back on January 8th against the Red Wings. The Blackhawks were 5-2-1 during that stretch, scoring 29 goals for an average of 3.63 G/G.

Although Sharp said he was "100% healthy" it is believed that he may have to undergo surgery after the season due to a broken bone in his left wrist. Of course, this did not come out of Sharp's mouth himself.

"It's a little bit faster (to return) but it's ready to go so I'm going to play," Sharp said after the morning skate. "I'm ready to go. I feel great. I'm excited to play in this building. It's good to be back. I can't wait to get going."

The return of Sharp and Toews is essential for the Blackhawks to continue their success, especially with a 9-game road trip at hand.
