Duncan Keith Suffers Upper-body Injury

* * * * *

Duncan Keith was pulled from Monday nights game against the Predators with an apparent upper-body injury.

Keith skated on 14 shifts for a total of 12:43 minutes before leaving the ice after blocking a shot, his only blocked shot of the game, 11:59 into the 2nd period.

The extent of the injury is unknown.

Chicago went on to beat Nashville in overtime, where Viktor Stalberg cut to the middle and potted his 2nd game-winning goal of the year.

Just saw the replay on NHL Network, looked like he took the shot in the hand, gotta imagine he broke something in there if it kept him out the rest of the game. Hope it's not too bad

Barely noticed he was away for most of the game. I don't know if that's a good or a bad thing.

Q post game said day to day. Let's hope that means what we think it means.

At least he wasn't pulled for bad play... I'd think that would happen before an injury.

Definitely something in the hand. I imagine a broken finger for some reason. Get a special glove and put him back out there with #7 god dammit.

God he struggled so much last year when he broke his finger. Hope to hell it's not another broken bone in the hand.

broken fingers suck holding a stick. A lot different than teeth. If they are broken, he's going to miss some time.

Better broken fingers than broken clockweights. The replay at fist looked like it was a shattered cup not shattered carpals.

If he has to miss games, I guess it is better to miss them now instead of late in the season.

ESPN is reporting that he might play in Florida.

I doubt it myself. He better be in for Sunday though. But at the same time you know those hacks in Vancouver are going to be slashing at his hand every chance they get.

well he is super Keith!

I'll believe it when I see it.

The guy has really been an iron man for our team since he's been here. While he has had a slide in the past season Keith is still my favorite blueliner and I could see him playing in Florida cause he is an animal. They did say he is traveling regardless cause it is the dad's trip though so if he misses a couple of games it wouldn't bother me.

Not playing tomorrow night. Not surprised.

I thougtht at the end one of Q's "after practice pressers" recently he said Olesz was OK...though I could not hear the question asked all that well, and it could have been some of Archer's "classic misdirection." Grin.

Yea but I believe he is still having issues with his knee. I could be wrong but then why would scott line up and play 2 minutes, therefor making the other forwards make up that time in double shifts.

true, but if it's good enough to practice, i would assume it's good enough to play 3.5 minutes a night, doubling the minutes John Scott plays.
