When will CBA talks resume?

"Despite the expiration of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, the National Hockey League has been, and remains, committed to negotiating around the clock to reach a new CBA that is fair to the Players and to the 30 NHL teams." [9/16/2012]
That never happened.
Instead, it has been over a week where Bettman and the NHL owners have decided to take a break from CBA talks... maybe a sign of punishment coming from the NHL considering they they blamed the NHLPA for dragging their feet all summer and did not appreciate their latest offer. Regardless of the situation, the NHL clearly lied about their intentions after receding from discussions, and certainly did not cover it up.
According to Bill Daly [9/16/2012]: “We spoke today and determined that there was no point in convening a formal bargaining session in light of the fact that neither side is in a position to move off of its last proposal. I’m sure we will keep in touch in the coming days and schedule meetings to the extent they might be useful or appropriate. We are sorry for where we are. Not what we hoped or expected.”
Nine days later, the NHL is ready to contact the NHLPA according to Pierre Lebrun, but there is no word of whether these talks will be regarding any formal CBA discussions. My guess is that they are going to plan another meeting within the next few days.
In the meantime, despite the speculation looming out there about the NHL trying to return in time for the Winter Classic, sources have stated that there is no set goal to complete the next CBA and they aren't really taking that into account. What does this mean for us? Prepare for another lost season at this point.
UPDATE [9/25/2012 - 1:00 PM]: Formal CBA talks will resume on Friday in NYC. Sounds like they will be working outward and moving in since they plan on discussing non-key elements such as pensions, benefits, travel, and grievance procedures.

I got into hockey because the business side was...more under the covers unlike other sports. Last lockout I was done with NHL. Then my buddy says, "I know you arent watching hockey anymore, but come with me and watch these kids (Toews/Kane) skate..." So I did, and was hooked again (not like it was hard), got my seats and that is all she wrote.
Until...
The Hawks start increasing their prices by huge amounts in 4 years. Ok fine, I make the hard decision to let the tiks go.
Now, the NHL, having seen an incredible increase to their business, want to mess around with said business and on the up and up decide to screw it all up with greed talks that go nowhere. I am not a businessman, but this doesnt seem like a smart venture.
Well, the business side is certainly thrown in my face now. I dont care if it is players' fault or owners' fault, I dont care anymore. They make it no fun to be an NHL fan.
I will always love hockey, and there is truly nothing better than a "good ole hockey game". But if I cant have fun being a fan, what the hell is the point? Cause this crap sure aint fun.
Maybe I actually want the NHL to die. Out of all the major leagues it is the joke league. Reffing is terrible with our normal refs. The discipline in the game is a punchline to a terrible joke. The NHL frankly does nothing well anymore. The instigator rule is terrible and any hockey fan can see the problems it causes. Rule changes take too long when there is a serious problem, the league just takes its leisurely time with it.
I love hockey, I hate the NHL, I love the teams in the NHL but the league is a fucking joke. Bettman isn't a good commissioner overall. Sure he's good at growing the game but he lacks the hockey skills to do anything productive with the on ice product.
Yeah I know I'm just ranting.
Bottom line for me towards the lockout is "whatever" the league just hates success.
This is why I can be a Wolves fan since Vancouver no longer means anything other than near excellent skiing and pussy riots.
Sara, I wish I could be...
But with all the other crap from ticket prices to lockout to...
I just dont have any optimism for a quick resolution. And if in fact a portion of the regular season is gone? Makes it all the easier to give up the NHL. While I would say that the vast majority of posters are hardcore hawks, more so hockey fans, it is truly just a game and a hobby as a fan. If that isnt fun anymore, well, no real point.
Truly, this is not me trying to be Negative Nancy. But without swift resolution, hockey then becomes the very reason I got into hockey to begin with.
As I am fond of quoting: "Never put passion before principle. Even if you win, you lose."
I am very optimistic that my prediction of a season long lockout will come true.

NHL labor talks resume in New York
Updated: September 28, 2012, 11:29 AM ETAssociated Press
NEW YORK -- With the clock ticking down to the start of the season, the NHL and its locked-out players are talking again.
Cross Checks Blog
The sides have resumed negotiations at league headquarters Friday. These are the first talks since the lockout was put in place and they come a day after the league canceled the remaining preseason games. The regular season is to start Oct. 11.
The league and the union are to discuss secondary issues and not the core of the dispute -- how to split more than $3 billion in annual revenue.
The sides are expected to break after the morning negotiations before bargaining again in the late afternoon. The negotiations are expected to last through the weekend.
I'm more optimistic that I'll be enjoying a game in Canada.... a baseball game.... when I go in 2013.
I agree.
It must suck going into every year knowing that I AM THE BEST and that you have to play for 2nd place.
I wouldn't know how that feels, though.
FUCK CHELIOS!
But damn, that was well said.
Pretty clear that hockey fans will get their fix regardless of whether it's NHL action or not.
Everyone cheered through the anthem and there were all "Lets Go IceHogs!!!" chants. Also lot of people brought cowbells. Was very clear the Wolves fans were in the minority.
Oh and btw... tickets for 1st row, center ice 200 level are only $15.
Concur.
Always respect that you are in someone else's house. Part of the fun of new barns is how the fans have built it.
