Jimmy Hayes, Jeremy Morin Sent Back to Rockford

  By Tony DeFrancesco

Jimmy Hayes and Jeremy Morin have been sent back to the AHL.
With Marian Hossa and Patrick Sharp expected to return on Thursday, along with the addition of centerman Michal Handzus, the Chicago Blackhawks have sent Jimmy Hayes and Jeremy Morin back to Rockford to help them with their playoff push.

Hayes, 23, appeared in nine games for the Blackhawks, scoring one goal and adding two assists. During his time in Chicago he played on a line with Dave Bolland and Patrick Kane. Hayes had one shot on goal and a minus-2 rating with 13:41 TOI on Monday vs. the Predators.

Morin, 21, appeared in two games for the Blackhawks, scoring one goal. He was used on the fourth line with Marcus Kruger and Dan Carcillo. Morin had two shots on goal and an even rating with 9:14 TOI on Monday vs. the Predators.

PURE OPINION — Hayes was too slow to keep up on the second line, he is a big body but he isn't physical enough, nor does he produce enough offense to warrant a roster spot. I've always liked Morin as a pure sniper, so it's no surprise to see him score in his first game. Morin didn't really get a great opportunity considering he was plopped on the fourth line and given limited ice-time, but all things considered I think he showed a lot of potential moving forward. I just hope the next time he is called up, they give him a real chance.

I would have liked to see Morin alongside Kane and Bolland instead of Hayes, but I can live with that decision for now.
